Goals and Projects

Here are my goals for 2009.

Begin a PhD Program

Ever since I graduated from college, I’ve toyed with the idea of going to graduate school.  Although, I’ve long had the desire, I could not visualize myself in a History program.  At one point, I thought I would study historical sociology and thus combine my two undergraduate interests.  Instead, I’ve recently completed my  application for the Political Science PhD Program at Georgia State University.  My decision is a result of me accepting that God has some purpose for me that involves government. I’m not sure exactly what he would like for me to do, but I  have faith.

Current Tasks: Submit Application

Increase Three Sticks Readership to 1000 daily readers

I have had a lot of fun putting together this blog and I believe that for the foreseeable future it will serve as key component of my ministry. God willing, I will be able provide enough value that the site is able to generate enough money to allow me to do the projects listed here full-time.  It’s time to get serious about this blog.  I’ve been way too inconsistent in the past. That changes starting today 2/8/09.

Current Tasks: Write Articles and Promote Site

Launch Entrepreneurship Site

I’ve had an idea for a site to help train people on entrepreneurship.  I hope to launch the site by the end of March.

Current Tasks: Complete Spec, Develop Site, Build Content

Ship Small Business Applications

I’ve been working on a set of applications for small business.  This series of applications would provide the necessary infrastructure to easily operate a small business.  I hope to launch the first of these applications by the end of July.

Current Tasks: Complete Spec, Technology Research

Learn Erlang and Clojure

Erlang and Clojure are two off the most interesting programming languages available today.  I’m considering both of these for a future project.
